Plan it out and take some courses on the subject to really get a handle on what it is all about.
Do the leg work and you will reap the rewards big time.
The best tips I can give you on using ezines as your advertising medium is to only place your ads in highly targeted mailings. It is best if you subscribe to the newsletters fist to see how they perform. What other types of ads are being sold and if you're product or service matches and compliments the ezine.
Make sure that they are offering valuable content to the list. If they are not chances are that most subscribers don't even open them so your ad money would go up in smoke.
How to get visitors to your site
Visitors are the life-blood of a successful website. If you are just starting out, website traffic is probably your main concern. "If you build it, they will come" doesn't apply to getting traffic to a website, to the consternation of many novices. But, it's not all that difficult. There are sources of free traffic and sources that require a small cost.
Free traffic
Even if you plan on paying to get traffic to your site initially, you should at the very least optimize your site for the search engines. With good optimization, you will eventually get free traffic. It just takes a while for the traffic to get started and work your way up in the rankings. SEO (search engine optimization) is a broad topic that I won't go into here. But just know it's not that difficult or time-consuming.
When I started out, I posted in forums and that brought me a lot of traffic. This is still one of my favorite traffic generation tactics that I still use today. When I joined my first forum, I just asked a few questions, then I answered a few questions of other members. That let people know that I wasn't there to just spam the forum with my advertising. Later, I set up my forum signature with my website address. This did two things; it gave me a backlink to my website, which ranks me higher in the search engines, and secondly, forum members clicked on the link to go to my site.
Paid Traffic
You have to be careful with paid traffic. There are some unscrupulous traffic sites out there that just take your money and never send anything more than a bot to your site. On the surface, it looks like you're getting traffic to your site, but you really aren't. Look for a traffic seller that's been around for a few years and guarantees delivery within a specific timeframe. The bad sites don't stick around for years. They just take the money and run.
On the other hand, paid traffic is generally the best way to get traffic to your site fast. If your site is new, it's probably one of the best ways to kick-start the action.
Website traffic campaigns that uses pop-unders generally has the best conversions to sales out of all the paid traffic campaign methods. And as far as paid traffic goes, these campaigns are lower cost than pay-per-click advertising.
